DMV INFORMATION
What you or your Sacramento DUI Attorney must do within 10 days of being arrested.
Things you must consider NOW.
~ To save your driving privileges you must contact the DMV within (10) calendar days. This can be done by your Sacramento DUI Lawyer.
If you do call, be aware that the DMV WILL NOT change the date of your appointment, if there is a conflict with your Sacramento Lawyer, you may not get an attorney of your choosing. Again, you have ten days, time to makes some calls.
You have from the date of your suspension/temporary driver license. If you have waited too long, please contact a Sacramento DUI Attorney.
The temporary driver license is the DMV paper the police officer issued you. Even if this was not issued the DMV will probably take action against you.
It does not matter if you are visiting from another state.
Your temporary driver license is valid for thirty days (30).
If you contacted the DMV about the administrative hearing, your temporary license will be extended and a stay will be issued until a decision has been determined from the DMV hearing.
The initial 30 temporary driver license is not your court date. There are actually two things going on. One, your DMV issue and Two, your STATE issue.
If you completed a sobriety test: there are three issues at the DMV hearing that need to be addressed
1.Did the officer have probable cause to pull you over or make a stop?
2.Is that evidence admissible?
3. Can we trust it and is it reliable?
This is important as the DMV has the burden of proof to prevail on all issues. If your attorney can knock out just one issue, you win.
